Event Info
Here you will find everything important about the Berliner Wasserbetriebe 5 x 5K TEAM relay: the starting times, your way to the starting documents and much more. Of course, we also tell you where you can get your picnic basket.
Start & finish
The start and finish area is in Tiergarten between John-Foster-Dulles-Allee and the sculpture garden at Bundeskanzleramt.
The start will take place in three waves to avoid bottlenecks. In order to plan your first change, we recommend to coordinate beforehand whether the start runner will start in wave 1, 2 or 3.
Start card & race material
Start card
About 7-10 days before the event, we will automatically send you your start card and further information about the race by e-mail to the team captain.
Race material pick-up
Information on how to pick up your starting documents before the event will follow at a later date here.
Time keeping & time limit
The time keeping is done with the MIKA TAG. The MIKA TAG consists of the start number on which a transponder is attached. The timing is done as usual by running over the mats at the start and finish.
Since the MIKA TAG is a "disposable transponder", there is no need to return the start number.
The time limit is 3 hours.
Picnic
Traditionally, our 5 x 5K TEAM-Relay includes a picnic basket with delicious snacks and a bottle of wine. And of course each team can complete the picnic with delicacies brought from home.
Important note: For reasons of sustainability, we will not be handing out any plastic cups. We therefore ask all participants to bring a drinking bottle and/or reusable drinking cups! We appreciate your support and understanding.
Relay batons
Every team needs a baton to pass on to the next runner.
The transitions are one of the highlights of the race. The more original the batons are, the easier they are for the teams to identify to ensure a quick transition. There are no limits to creativity.
Of course, if needed, you can borrow a "normal" baton on site.
