Mottram runs world leader in Seville

Craig Mottram scored a convincing victory ahead of his predominantly African rivals when winning over 5000 metres at Saturday's IAAF Grand Prix meeting in Seville. The Australian who was the first white finisher in last summer's Olympic final over the distance, scorched to a satisfing success in a fast time of 13 minutes 04.06 seconds. His time of was the fastest in the world this year, superseding the 13:05.05 performance of Kenya's James Mwangi Murigi in Tokyo 24 a day earlier.
